ABOUT ME
A labour of love, a life of service
Alhamdulillah, by the grace and blessing of Allah, I have spent the last two decades building a career in the charity and community sector, supporting organisations to grow, serve with ihsan, and make a meaningful difference.
While fundraising has been a significant part of that journey, my work today spans strategic leadership, organisational development, and income generation at a senior level.

20 YEARS
THE JOURNEY
From a quiet volunteer to sector expert
I began my journey as a quiet, introverted volunteer. Giving a voice to the voiceless gave me a voice, and through that, Alhamdulillah, I have been able to reach hundreds of thousands of people.
I have lived the full journey of a fundraiser, from volunteering every spare hour, shaking buckets in all weather, organising events, putting up posters, and driving long-wheelbase vans, to stewarding major donors and transformational gifts. I remain an introvert at heart, and my work ethic has always been to do good quietly and with sincerity, rather than seek visibility for its own sake.
MY APPROACH
Giving as a blessing
My approach to fundraising is always grounded in the belief that giving in charity is a blessing and an opportunity. I aim to highlight need without guilt, instead reminding people that we give seeking Allah's pleasure and reward.
Through giving, we show gratitude, purify our wealth, fulfil the rights of others, and seek His protection and forgiveness. This understanding shapes both how I fundraise and how I support organisations to engage their communities in a way that is principled, dignified, and sustainable.
"To be chosen as a means for Allah's mercy to reach others is an honour."
THE PRIVILEGE
A profound honour
This work is a labour of love, and I am deeply aware of the sacrifice it requires. But I also believe it is a profound privilege. To be chosen as a means for Allah's mercy to reach others is an honour, and this shared perspective allows me to relate deeply to the organisations, staff, and volunteers I work alongside.
BEYOND WORK
Living a life of purpose
Living a life of purpose and service is what has sustained my commitment to this work. For me, this begins at home, being present for my parents and having the honour of helping to raise my nephews, who lost their mother in early infancy.
Beyond family, I give back through my work with the Muslim Scout Fellowship and FEMYSO, supporting and mentoring young Muslims in the UK and wider West to develop into confident, values-driven leaders.
